Our Background

Barnaby Sanders

In 2011 I was rushed through a lot of tests I was finally diagnosed with cancer on my 27th birthday.  The journey wasn't straight forward.  During this time my number one priority was to spend as much time with my family and, most importantly, my wife Katie.  Katie has a real passion for horses.  I began to ride with her at a local riding school.  It was a real sense of release, a focus and the link with nature provided me with a calm environment to recover.

With my new found hobby, I was looking to gain as much experience as possible.  We booked tickets to see cross country day at the 2012 Olympic games in Greenwich park.  The moment I saw the professionals flying around the cross country track, I knew it was something that I needed to do.

Katie and I made a promise to ourselves that when everything was improving we would get our first horse.  After some searching we bought Rainstown Sky,  she was a beautiful Irish bred mare, 16.1 hands and bright bay.  She was kind natured and thought she could teach us a lot.  She transformed into an incredible event horse.  She was produced slowly and sympathetically with a large team providing advice and support.

We went on to compete for four fantastic seasons at BRS_Eventing and our results  continued to improve.  We had multiple runs at each level and finished competing at BE Novice.

When Sky retired we looked to focus on breeding the best quality British sports horses.  Our first foal was out of our beautiful mare Sky and we intend to bring her willingness and rideability through, whist continuing to introduce new and exciting performance horse lines.
